Our Story
In 2014, SweetWater Café opened its doors in downtown Sioux City, Iowa. Our unique atmosphere, gourmet coffee and grab-and-go sandwiches won the hearts of neighboring tenants and their customers. It wasn’t long before we decided to replicate the magic in Winnebago, Nebraska in 2017.
Sweetwater Cafe’s sister company is Pony Express, which operates five convenience stores and a grocery market in Iowa and Nebraska. Sweetwater coffee is served at all six locations.
Sweetwater Café is a subsidiary of Ho-Chunk, Inc., the social and economic development corporation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

Our original location still sits in Ho-Chunk Centre, with convenient access from The Downtown Skywalk System. Enjoy a stroll through a variety of downtown sites, rain or shine!

The Winnebago café is located in the heart of Ho-Chunk Village, just off Highway 77. This multi-use community includes a statue garden, playground and convenient shopping.
